Our son is turning 3 today! I can't believe that we have been in this process for a year already. We thought surely that we would be able to celebrate this birthday with him, teach him how to blow out candles, how to tear into presents and most importantly, how to get cake from the top of his head to the tips of his toes! Even though he is not with us yet we still celebrated. We got together with my mom and sister and her whole family for a huge family dinner and finished up with cake in his honor. It was a great day, not going to lie, I did shed a few tears, but wonderful none the less. Next year we will have him with us and will celebrate properly!
The WACAP Thai program staff is going to be in Thailand in about a week and will be visiting Frank's orphanage. We sent along a gift package with clothes, a toy airplane, a wonderful book from our friends Jen and Jeff, and our photo album. Now the deal with the photo album is this, you cannot send it too far in advance and the orphanage will only share it with the child once they feel secure that the child is definitely going to that family. We are keeping our fingers crossed that he will see pur photos and will finally learn that he has a mommy and daddy who are waiting for him and love him so much we could burst. We will keep you updated as soon as we hear anything!
Love,
Nancy and John
